How do I change the brightness of my camera in Microsoft Teams and Zoom?

Auto adjust your webcam's brightness level or set to manual if you're experiencing sudden changes in brightness

Microsoft Teams

  1. Select the 3 dots . . .  menu top right
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Devices
  4. Scroll down to Video Settings
  5. Under Camera select the webcam you wish to change the settings for
    1. Integrated Webcam is the laptop's in-built camera
  6. Use the Adjust brightness toggle to turn auto-brightness on or off
  7. To adjust your camera settings for all applications, select Open camera settings
  8. Select Camera Control
    1. To remove auto-brightness untick Auto for Exposure.
    2. Adjust any other desired settings.
  9. Select OK to save.

Zoom

Zoom's low light settings allow you to combat poor lighting conditions during remote video conferences by brightening your video in dark environments.

  1. In the Zoom desktop client, click your profile picture and then click Settings .
  2. Click the Video  tab.
  3. Select the Adjust for low light check box.
  4. By default, the setting will be set to Auto. However, you can select Manual, and adjust the setting to the desired effect.
