When you have no WiFi network available, tether your diocesan computer to your diocesan iPhone's WiFi hotspot and mark the connection as metered.
Warning: For diocesan devices in the UK on the unlimited mobile data tariff. Do not tether personal devices to your diocesan iPhone.
Caution: Data is limited outside the UK. Please raise a support ticket with the IT Team first (Access Abroad) and use only for emergencies, setting the connection as metered. You may be charged for excessive fees you have created on your account.

Enable Personal Hotspot on iPhone

Open Settings on your iPhone.

Tap Personal Hotspot (or Cellular > Personal Hotspot).

Toggle Allow Others to Join to enable it.

Take note of the Wi-Fi password displayed on this screen.
Connect Windows Computer to iPhone’s Hotspot

On your Windows computer, click the Wi-Fi icon in the system tray (bottom-right corner).

Look for your iPhone's network name.

Click on the network and select Connect.

Enter the Wi-Fi password displayed on your iPhone.

Click Next to connect.
Mark connection as metered in Windows
By marking the WiFi connection as metered, certain high data activities such as Windows Updates and syncing will be limited to reduce the amount of mobile data used.
- Go to Windows Start
- Type WiFi settings and select
- Choose Manage known networks
- Select the name of the WiFi you wish to set as metered
- Turn off Metered connection

Personal Hotspot not visible? Restart both your iPhone and Windows computer.
- Connection drops frequently? Check your iPhone's signal strength and move the iPhone to a better location.
