# Associates Passkey Campaign: Let's keep your account secure

## A guide to creating passkeys for signing into your Diocesan Microsoft 365 account

**Passkeys are a more secure form of authentication than password and text messages or voice calls.**

Passkeys can be created on every device you use to access your account.

- On a Windows computer, you can use Windows Hello.

- On a Mac computer, iPhone or iPad you can use iCloud Keychain 
    - **[Apple Support: Set up iCloud Keychain](https://support.apple.com/en-gb/109016)**
- For iPhones, iPads and Android devices, you can use the Microsoft Authenticator app
- On all devices you can use a USB Security Key such as a Yubikey
- Diocesan Associates can also create passkeys in password managers such as Google, Samsung, Dashlane, 1Password etc.

**Tip:** We recommend having at least 2 passkeys to access your account, one accessible on your computer and one accessible on your mobile phone using the **[Microsoft Authenticator app](https://help.stalbansdiocese.org/passkey-campaign#MSAuth)**

To help you transition to passkeys, you may see a message saying **Let's keep your account secure** when you sign in:

- Select **Next** to [setup a passkey on your device](https://help.stalbansdiocese.org/passkey-campaign#on-device)
- Select **Other options** to [create a passkey inMicrosoft Authenticatoron a mobile phone](https://help.stalbansdiocese.org/passkey-campaign#MSAuth)

### **Setting up a passkey on your device**

Follow the onscreen instructions carefully. Below are some screenshots of what to expect:

#### **Save passkey to another location**

- Select **Change** if you wish to save the passkey somewhere else

### **Create a Passkey in Microsoft Authenticator on a mobile phone**

- Download the **[Microsoft Authenticator app](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/authenticator/download-microsoft-authenticator)** from the **[Apple App Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/microsoft-authenticator/id983156458)** or **[Google Play Store](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.azure.authenticator)**.
- Follow the onscreen instructions carefully
