Using the Apple Devices app installed on the diocesan Windows computer

Method1. iCloud
Note: Your iPhone or iPad needs to be signed in with your own personal Apple ID and iCloud enabled. See: Apple Support - Set up iCloud Drive >
- On your iPhone or iPad, save your files to your iCloud Drive or upload photos to Apple Photos
- On your computer, go to icloud.com
- Sign in with the same Apple ID as you are signed in with on your iPhone or iPad
- For Files choose Drive:
- Hover over a file or photo you wish to download to your computer and select the 3 dots
- Select Download a Copy... and it will be saved in your computer's Download folder.
- For Photos choose Photos:
- Select the photos you wish to download
- Select the cloud download icon to download them to your computer's Download folder.
Method 2A. Install the Apple Devices app on your work computer
- Select the Windows start button
- Type Company Portal and select the Company Portal app

- Sign in with your credentials if asked
- Select Apps
- Select Apple Devices
- Select Install
Method 2B. Files: Prepare files for transfer on your iPhone or iPad
Note: For photos only, skip to 2C.
- On your iPhone or iPad, install the Pages app from the Apple App Store if you do not have it installed already.
- Open the Files app
- Move or copy any files you wish to transfer to On My iPhone > Pages folder.
Method 2C. Connecting your iPhone or iPad to the Apple Devices app
Note: A cable is required to do this and you can use the same cable you use to charge the device (disconnect it from the charger first).
If you do not have a cable with you please ask the IT Team.
- Once the Apple Devices app is installed on your computer, select the Windows start button and open the Apple Devices app or search for Apple Devices and select the app (like steps A1-A2 above).
- Agree to the license agreement
- On the welcome screen select Start
- Connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer with a cable
- On your computer, select Trust
- On your iPhone or iPad tap Trust
- Enter your usual passcode on the iPhone or iPad
- On the computer, once connected select Skip Backup
Method 2D. Transferring files to your computer
Note: For photos skip to 2E.
- In the left sidebar select Files
- Select Pages
- A list of files stored in the Pages folder on your iPhone or iPad appears. Select the files you wish to transfer.
- Select Save ...
- Choose a location to save them onto your computer.
Method 2E. Transferring photos to your computer
- On your computer, open a Windows Explorer folder or select + E
- Go to This PC in the left sidebar
- Open your Apple iPhone or iPad listed under Devices and drives
- Open Interal Storage
- Open DCIM
- Open the date of the photo you wish to copy
- Copy the photo to your computer
Method 2F. Disconnecting your iPhone or iPad
Eject your device from your Windows computer by selecting the Eject button in the left sidebar.
