My Authenticator app codes for MFA / 2FA do not work or show an error
Fix multi-factor authentication codes generated by an iPhone or Android mobile authenticator app
Note: Authenticator apps include Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, Oracle (desktop), LastPass Authenticator etc. Apply the solutions below to whichever authenticator app you use for the account that is not working.

Warning: Codes in the authenticator app changes typically every 30 seconds. Enter the code that's currently showing however if it switches to a new code before you finish typing, use the new code instead.
- Kill the app and restart.
- Check notifications are enabled for the app.
- Check the mobile's clock is synced. In settings choose to set time automatically.
- Android only: Disable battery optimisation for the app.
- Android only: Clear app cache.
- Try last: If one account is not working, re-authenticate the account in the app.
- Ensure you are using the latest version of the authenticator app.
