Teams Training: Restarting Teams App

Restarting Teams may resolve an issue you have with the programme. Closing the window only hides Microsoft Teams, it does not close it. Follow these instructions to restart Teams.

  1. Stop the Microsoft Teams app by right-clicking the Teams icon in the bottom right of the taskbar. If you don't see it, click the arrow up first to show hidden icons.How to Stop Microsoft Teams from Opening Automatically
    1. If the Teams icon is missing then Teams probably is not running. Continue to step 2.
  2. Select Quit
  3. Reopen by press the Windows Start button bottom left
  4. Type teams
  5. Select Microsoft Teams and the app should open
