How do I save email replies automatically in the same email folder as the original message?

When replying to a message that is not in the inbox, save the reply in the same folder in Outlook Desktop

  1. In Outlook Desktop
  2. Go to File (top left)
  3. Options (left pane, 2nd to bottom)
  4. Mail (left pane, 2nd down)
  5. Scroll halfway down to Save messages
  6. Tick checkbox:
    1. When replying to a message that is not in the inbox, save the reply in the same folder
  7. Select OK
