      My iPhone is making no noise when I receive a call or message. How do I turn off silent mode and turn it back on to ring?

      The Ring/Silent switch is on the left-hand side of your iPhone. You can use it to control which sounds are played from your iPhone speaker.

      Use Ring mode

      To put your iPhone in Ring mode, move the switch so that orange isn't being displayed.

      To put your iPhone in Silent mode, move the switch so that orange is being displayed.

      In Ring mode, you'll hear ringtones and alerts.

      In Silent mode, you won't hear ringtones and alerts – but your iPhone can still play sounds, such as when you play music or videos.
