      How do I change the default list separator character in Excel on a Windows computer?

      A list separator in Excel determines the character used to separate values in functions and data. By default this is a comma

      To change the list separator

      1. Press the Windows key  windows-11-start-png
      2. Type Control Panel
      3. Choose Clock and Region
      4. Select Region

      5. In the Formats tab select Additional settings....

      6. In the Numbers tab, locate List separator and type in your desired character, eg. , or ;

        1. , is the default
        2. ; is used by Xledger

      7. Select OK

      8. Restart Excel for the change to take effect
