Change your default font in Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
Note: Microsoft's default font is Aptos; previously it was Calibri.

If you are sharing a document and the recipient's computer does not have the fonts installed that you used then their default font will be used instead. To retain the fonts you used, save and share the document as a PDF file as the fonts will be embedded in the file.

Change your default font in Word Desktop
Tip: With this method you configure the document as you would like (fonts, margins etc) and then save the document as the default template called Normal.dotm. This file is located at %appdata%\Microsoft\Templates
Change your default font in Excel Desktop
- Open Excel
- Go to File > Options > General > When creating new workbooks
- Under Use this as the default font select the font you wish to use and change the size if required.
- You can also set a default template to include other formatting when you start Excel:

Change your default font in Outlook Desktop
- In Outlook > File > Options > Mail > Stationery and Fonts...
- Change for New email messages and Replying or forwarding messages
Change your default font in Powerpoint Desktop
- In Powerpoint > View > Slide Master
