# Outlook Desktop is auto-completing an incorrect email address or name in the To / CC / BCC fields in a new email message

## Modify stored contacts in Outlook Classic

**Tip:** These instructions are for Outlook Classic. Not sure if you're using New or Classic Outlook? See:

### 1. Check your Outlook Address Book

Amend any incorrect email addresses or names stored under **My Contacts** in Outlook

### 2. Manually sync the Offline Global Address List

Organisational contacts are handled by the server and you may need to resync your Outlook desktop to reflect recent changes.

### 3. Clear the AutoComplete cache

Outlook Desktop stores a local copy of recently used email addresses for quick access in the To, CC and BCC fields. Changes made in 1 and 2 above won't change these suggestions. Instead, enter their email address or name and select the **X** on the right of the incorrect suggestion to clear from Outlook.
