Tip: Teams meetings can also be created in the Microsoft Teams app. Go to Calendar and select + New meeting in the top right. The calendar displayed is your primary calendar.
Enable or Re-Enable Teams add-in for Outlook
- Open Outlook Desktop
- Select File > Info > Slow and Disabled COM Add-ins
- If the Teams add-in is listed here it means it was slow to load or is disabled in Outlook. Re-enable it by selecting Always enable this add-in and Do not monitor this add-in
- Go to File > Options > Add-ins > Manage > COM Add-ins > Go...
- Look for the Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office
- If unticked, tick it to enable > OK
- If it is already ticked, untick it to disable > OK > Restart Outlook > Go back to File > Options > Add-ins > Manage > COM Add-ins > Go... > Tick to re-enable Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office > OK
- If the add-in is missing:
- Select Cancel and go back to File > Options > Add-ins
- Select Manage > select Disabled Items in the dropdown box > Go...
- If listed as a disabled add-in, select the add-in > Enable > Close
- If you cannot find the Microsoft Teams add-in listed here either, please raise a support ticket.
- Select COM Add-ins in the dropdown box and ensure the Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office is there and ticked > OK
- Restart Outlook
Create a new meeting with a Microsoft Teams link
Ensuring the Microsoft Teams add-in is enabled in Outlook Desktop, in calendars either:
- Select New Meeting > New Meeting to create a new meeting with a Teams link.
- Select Teams Meeting > Schedule Meeting or another option
Add a Microsoft Teams link to an existing appointment
Select Teams Meeting from the ribbon:
