My wireless keyboard and/or mouse is not working correctly
- Ensure the wireless keyboard/mouse switch is on (if there is one).
- Ensure the correct USB dongle for the keyboard/mouse is present and inserted into a USB port.
- Try the USB dongle in another port. If it's located in a dock, move it to a USB port in your laptop.
- If the USB dongle works in the laptop and not the dock, the issue might be your dock. Check the dock has power and is connected correctly.
- Each wireless keyboard and mouse has its own dongle. Ensure you haven't mixed up the dongle with another keyboard / mouse's USB dongle.
- Check the batteries are inserted correctly.
- The batteries may be depleted, try new batteries.
- Try restarting your computer.
- If the cursor is jumping around the screen, the problem might be the surface the mouse is sitting on. Ensure you're using it on a flat clean surface with no grooves and the mouse is clean underneath. Try using the mouse on a smooth mouse mat or, temporarily, on a piece of paper to see if this improves the cursor.
- Wireless keyboards / mice can suffer from interference from other wireless devices. Signals can also be poor if the distance from the USB dongle to the keyboard / mouse is too far. Try moving the USB dongle closer to the keyboard / mouse; a USB extension cable can be used for this purpose.
