      How to use Foxit PDF Editor

      Foxit PDF Editor is a replacement for Adobe Acrobat Pro that allows you to create, edit, and manage PDF documents.

      What PDF features does Foxit PDF Editor have?

      Foxit PDF Editor can do everything that Adobe Acrobat Pro can do which includes:

      • PDF Creation: Create PDFs from various file formats, including Word, Excel, and web pages.

      • PDF Editing: Edit text, images, and objects directly within a PDF, with advanced layout tools.

      • Annotation Tools: Add comments, highlights, stamps, and drawings to PDFs for collaboration.

      • Form Creation and Filling: Design interactive forms and fill out existing ones.

      • OCR (Optical Character Recognition): Convert scanned documents into editable and searchable PDFs.

      • File Conversion: Export PDFs to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other formats.

      • Document Organization: Merge, split, reorder, and organize PDF pages.

      • Security Features: Protect PDFs with passwords, encryption, and redaction tools.

      • eSignatures*: Add legally binding electronic signatures to documents.

      How do I get Foxit PDF Editor?

      1. Raise a support ticket if you require a PDF editor for your role.
      2. The IT Team will assign you a license and an email confirmation will be sent to you from:
        no-reply@eu.foxitsoftware.com 
      3. The IT Team will deploy the Foxit PDF apps to your diocesan devices.
        1. Once installed, the app will be available on your desktop/home screen, app list and in the company portal app.

      Note: Foxit uses single sign-on (SSO) to securely authenticate with your diocesan Microsoft account so there's no Foxit password to set.

      How do I sign into the app on a computer?

      Note: A single license of Foxit PDF Editor can only be activated on one device at a time. When signing into a 2nd device, choose the option to log out of the original device. There is no limit on switching devices.

      1. Open the Foxit PDF Editor app
      2. Select Sign In

      3. Enter your diocesan email address and select Sign In

      4. You will be redirected to sign in with your diocesan account

      5. Select your diocesan account or enter manually and sign in
         
      6. Select St Albans Diocese

      7. If requested, select Yes to make Foxit PDF Editor the default viewer for PDF Files

      8. If shown, select Restart Now to reload the application
         
      9. You can now use the app
         

      How do I make Foxit PDF Editor as the default app on Windows?

      1. Open the Foxit PDF Editor app
      2. Select Help
      3. Select Set to Default PDF Reader

      How do I sign into the app on an iPhone or iPad?

      Note: A single license of Foxit PDF Editor can only be activated on one device at a time. When signing into a 2nd device, choose the option to log out of the original device.There is no limit on switching devices.

      1. Open the Foxit PDF Editor app
      2. Terms: Agree and continue
      3. Notifications: Allow notifications or Maybe later
      4. On the Sign In screen enter your diocesan email address

      5. You will be redirected to sign in with your diocesan account
      6. Select your diocesan account or enter manually and sign in 

      7. Select St Albans Diocese

      8. You can now use the app
         

      How do I use the web version, Foxit PDF Editor Cloud?

      pdfonline.foxit.com

      If you don't have your diocesan device available, or your app is not working, you can also access the PDF Editor using an internet browser:

      1. Open an internet browser, eg. Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Safari etc
      2. Go to https://pdfonline.foxit.com/
      3. Select Sign in under Already have an account?

      4. Enter your diocesan email address
      5. You will be redirected to sign in with your diocesan account.
      6. Select your diocesan account or enter manually and sign in 

      7. Select St Albans Diocese

      8. You can now use the web app

      How do I get help on how to use Foxit PDF Editor?

      1. Open Foxit PDF Editor
      2. Select Help
        1. Select Support Center for the AI Support Center
        2. Select User Manual for a PDF tutorial
        3. Select Help Center for how to articles
        4. Select Online Tutorial to open an internet browser to the Instructional Videos

      Troubleshoot: Trial in progress or trial has ended

      1. Sign out of Foxit using the drop down menu in the top right.

      2. Then sign back in >
