I cannot delete a calendar in Outlook desktop and Outlook crashes when I select the calendar

Resolve calendar issues by resetting the navigation pane

The navigation pane is typically located on the left side of the Outlook desktop application which shows your mail folders and calendars.

If Outlook desktop is crashing when selecting a calendar it might be that the navigation pane is corrupt and needs resetting:

  1. Take a screenshot (prt sc button or Snipping Tool) of your current mailbox folder and calendar favourites in the left navigation pane so you can restore those links after a reset
  2. Close Outlook
  3. Open the run command:
    1. On the keyboard press the Windows key windows-icon-32-png and R
    2. or open the Windows start menu  > type Run > select Run
  4. Type the following:
    outlook.exe /resetnavpane
  5. Use your screenshot to add your favourites back to the navigation pane
