In this video, we show how to make one-on-one or group calls in Microsoft Teams. You can make calls directly from a chat or use the dial pad to enter a phone number as well as get notified about potential spam calls.
Call from the Calls Window
- Type in the name or number or use the dial pad.
- Select the name or number that appears in the drop down menu.
- Add more names and numbers for a group call.
- Select Call to start the call
- To call from another number, eg. a department number (call queue) or somebody else's number (if you are a member of their calling group or delegate), select the drop down arrow next to call and choose which number to call from:
Call from the Chat Window
- Start a new chat with the pencil icon and select the person you wish to chat to
- Select the arrow down to the right of the phone icon (in Teams Mobile select the icon)
- Video call - for a Teams chat with a camera.
- Audio call - for a Teams chat without a camera.
- Call - for calls to a landline or mobile phone number
Using the dialpad when you're in a call
If you need to enter a number, * star or # hash key during a call, eg. for an automated call menu, the dialpad needs to be in focus on your screen (ie. the active window) otherwise any keyboard inputs will not work.
- Open the call window.
- Select the Dialpad button.
- Select the number, * star or # hash key on the dialpad or enter it on your keyboard.
