Why can I not make calls, send text / picture messages on my diocesan mobile phone?

There are restrictions in place to avoid excessive costs

There is a spend cap on your diocesan mobile phone which means you will not be able to call certain international (typically outside the EU) and premium numbers (starting 08 and 09) or use premium text services or send picture messages (MMS).

If you need to make a restricted call, you can do the following:

  1. Check there isn't an alternative freephone (0800) or national rate numbers (starting 01, 02, 03) that you can call instead.
    1. Use this website to search:
      https://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php
  2. If available, use an office landline instead either through a office phone handset or Webex.

If you regularly need to call these numbers as part of your role please raise a support ticket and we will consider increasing your spend cap in consultation with your department's budget holder.

If you are trying to send a picture message (MMS) please send your picture using a different method such as via email or a OneDrive / SharePoint link instead.
