How do I set my work hours and location in Outlook and Microsoft Teams?
Let your team know when and where you plan to work. Show your work hours and whether you plan to work in the office or remotely.
Note: Work hours and location is available in Outlook on the Web, Microsoft Teams Desktop, Teams on the Web, and New Outlook for Windows (the latter is not being used on diocesan devices). This feature is not available in Outlook Desktop.
Set work hours and location in Outlook New & Outlook on the Web
- Open Outlook New or go to outlook.office.com/calendar/ (sign in required)
- If you see Try the New Outlook toggled off in the top right then you are using Outlook Classic. Toggle on to switch to Outlook New or go to Outlook on the Web.

Select the Settings cog in the top right

- Choose Work hours and location, and then define your work schedule by choosing days, times, and locations.

View and update your work location
From Teams
Select the circle icon with your profile picture and change the work location. The new location will be applied to your work hours for the remainder of the day and reflected in both Teams and Outlook on the Web.

When viewing your calendar, select the icon representing your scheduled work location and change the location as needed.

View a colleague's location from Microsoft Teams
If you want to quickly look up where someone is working from, you can view their location in their profile card next to their availability. Select or hover over their name:
